The Nature of Procrastination

Definition of Procrastination:

Procrastination refers to the act of delaying or postponing tasks and activities that need to be accomplished, often despite knowing the negative consequences associated with the delay.

The Two Faces of Procrastination:

  • There are two primary forms of procrastination: active and passive.
  • Active procrastination involves deliberately delaying tasks to work better under pressure or when motivation is high.
  • Passive procrastination is the more common form, where individuals put off tasks due to fear, anxiety, or avoidance of discomfort.
